In the Gallup Organization's 2001 Honesty and Ethics poll, Americans were asked to rate the honesty and ethical standards of 23 professions. Only one profession was rated "low" or "very low" by a majority of the 1,005 respondents. Want to guess which one? Car sales. In fact, the public has viewed car sales as the least ethical profession since Gallup began this annual poll in 1977. A runner-up for the booby prize: advertisers.
