TOKYO, March 1 Asia Pulse - French automaker Renault SA said that it will boost its equity stake in Nissan Motor Co (TSE:7201) to 44.4 per cent from 36.8 per cent, effective Friday.
Renault will give Nissan 215.9 billion yen ($US1.61 billion) to exercise warrants attached to its 539.75 million Nissan shares. Nissan also plans to take a 15 per cent stake in Renault later this year, reinforcing the cooperative relationship between the two automakers.
