TOKYO, March 1 Asia Pulse - Business sentiment among small and midsize companies in Japan worsened in February for the first time in three months, according to figures released Thursday by Shoko Chukin Bank.

The diffusion index of business sentiment for smaller companies fell 0.4 point from the previous month to 38.9 in February, remaining below the boom-or-bust threshold of 50 for the 71st month in a row.
