TAIPEI, March 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's biotech industry should not blindly pursue what is fashionable but should instead play to its own unique strengths and establish alliances with appropriate partners, Isis Pharmaceuticals CEO Stanley T. Crooke said in Taipei Thursday.
Crooke said at BioBusiness Asia 2002, a newly established forum for biotech companies in the region, that although the most popular direction for biotech companies at the moment is to create new drugs with new technologies, agricultural biotechnology might be an area in which Asian companies can excel.
