Allied Business Intelligence has published a 210-page study on "GPS World Markets 2002." Among its findings, the report states that the overall market continues to grow at a fast pace, with new market segments and new generations of products constantly evolving. Some product life cycles are very short because new technologies displace the old often in less than six months.

ABI analysts forecast the 2006 world market for GPS equipment at $34 billion as a moderate figure, or as much as $41 billion should world economies recover from their current slump.
