MMI Travel, a division of Maritime and Mercantile International Ltd., has re-launched Gulf Ventures, a dedicated destination management unit that will cater to tourists inbound for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

MMI General Manager Kerem Camcigil said "We have seen the world witness a downturn in the travel industry in the last two and a half months. But, compared to many destinations elsewhere, Dubai has not been as badly affected, which only proves its popularity as an internationally preferred global destination." "With passenger throughput at the Dubai international airport expected to reach 30 million by the year 2010, the onus lies with the travel, tourism and hospitality industries to support the government's endeavors to promote Dubai to the world.
