Orion Financial Group here, a firm created by veterans of the consumer finance and home equity lending business, is seeking to take some of the pain out of recording mortgage assignment and release paperwork.
By automating the process, lenders can "virtually eliminate" county recorder rejections, the company says.
The company specializes in mortgage assignments, satisfactions and document retrieval services.
Mike Wileman, vice president for sales and marketing, said that Orion is a technology-based company that capitalizes on the development of its own DocPro software.
A key to the company's success is cutting the number of document recordings that are rejected at the county level and have to be corrected,
Mr. Wileman said. Because some 3,600 counties across the country have sometimes varying requirements, manually filing the documents becomes time consuming and expensive.
The founder of the company, Mr. Wileman's father, decided that technology could make the process of recording assignments and reconveyances more efficient.
