HELP FROM HELLING: With the addition of free-agent RHP Rick Helling to the rotation, versatile RHP Miguel Batista can return to the bullpen if RHP Todd Stottlemyre or RHP Armando Reynoso returns from injury. In a worst-case scenario, Batista would return to the rotation, where he flourished in the second half of last season. Helling, 31, was 12-11 with a 5.17 ERA last year for the Rangers, but his 137 starts in the past four seasons are more than any American Leaguer. He has made 145 straight starts without missing a turn since he joined Texas' rotation in August 1997.
