When the Deer Creek catalog informed us that the Good Luck Money Ring "draws money to you like a magnet," we knew we had to try it. Did the ring possess "the mystic power to make money come to you--big money!"? We paid $25, including postage, for two rings and chose our lucky seven volunteers to wear them--six women and one man secure enough in his masculinity to wear a ring that is, frankly, kind of girlie-girl. Volunteers wore the ring for a day or more. (The catalog said, "Use it when you want lots of money fast!")
