Last December 4th in Bronkhorstspruit, South Africa, Hilgrad Trouw was about to leave for the golf course where he works when five men approached, pulled him from his pick-up truck, and forced him into his house. His wife, Hester, was in a bedroom when two of the young thugs walked in and told her to lie down on the floor and go to sleep. They then went to a son's room and took the boy to the lounge where Mr. Trouw was being held at gunpoint by their accomplices.
Asked where he kept his gun, Trouw told the robbers that it was in the truck, when it was really in a bedroom safe. While three of the intruders ran to get the gun, the other two became embroiled in a verbal spat with Trouw.
