SYDNEY, Jan 31 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar opened weaker this morning after sliding to a new five week low overnight on continuing drops in demand.
At 0700 AEDT the Australian dollar was at $US0.5057/62 from 0.5091/96 at yesterday's close.
