REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Deltagen, Inc. , announced today the identification of DT011M, a key insulin-mediating drug target, for the potential treatment of obesity and related diseases, such as diabetes. Deltagen has plans to initiate a chemical screening program and compound development efforts during 2002.
"Current drugs for diabetes seek to manage blood glucose level and do not address the underlying disorder.
