Version 3.0 of Paraform, which the manufacturer describes as "digital form development software" offers enhancements designed for users in both the engineering and entertainment fields. Paraform is able to translate various types of physical and digital data (point-cloud data from a scan, for example) into downstream CAD/CAM/ CAE data for conceptual design, rapid prototyping, rapid surfacing, tooling analysis and design, FEA/CFD, reverse engineering, digital archiving, and various other applications. In the entertainment industry, the software is proving useful for, among other functions, converting scans of actors and clay maquettes into digital models for broadcast, film, and gaming applications.
