PITTSBURGH -- Pennsylvania Gov. Mark Schweiker today thanked the Oley Township Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police and police in Maryland for their efforts in the incident in which 13 children were found safe after being driven on a school bus from Berks County to Maryland.

"The law-enforcement officers involved responded quickly and professionally to deal with this extremely tense situation," Gov. Schweiker said. "Like all Pennsylvanians, Kathy and I are so relieved that this story had a happy ending for those children and their parents.
