This outside linebacker crop is average at best. Not including juniors, there are few players who are worth spending a pick on the first day of the draft.
1. Napolean Harris, Northwestern, 6-2, 246. With power, speed and athleticism, Harris is a very good prospect at strongside linebacker. He made the switch from linebacker to defensive end as a senior and also has a basketball background. Can drop into coverage. Plays hard and works hard.
2. Levar Fisher, North Carolina State, 6-0, 228. This is a small, fast linebacker who finds a way to make loads of plays. Explosive player who accelerates to the hole. Gets manhandled by big linemen. Raw. Inconsistent tackler but is tough.
3. Ben Leber, Kansas State, 6-4, 250. Strong player who can handle tight ends. Plays with intelligence and shows good intangibles. Steady player who gets around the ball. Playing in space is not his strength. Has some experience in the middle.
4. Larry Foote, Michigan, 6-2, 230. A run-and-chase player who knows how to drop. An instinctive playmaker. Shows blitzing skills. Plays with aggressiveness. Isn't real physical taking on blockers.
5. Kevin Bentley, Northwestern, 6-1, 234. Tough guy who has a feel for the game. Goes all out. Good hitter and tackler. Makes a lot of plays. Average athletic ability. Will at ...
