Jets RE John Abraham is accustomed to making adjustments. As a senior at South Carolina, he was switched to outside linebacker after three years as an end. Then, in the NFL, he was switched back to end as a rookie in 2000. But after posting 4 1/2 sacks in his first six NFL games, Abraham missed the rest of the season because of an abdominal injury.
This season, Abraham has dealt with the team's move from a 3-4 to a 4-3 scheme and injuries to both hands. After a slow start, however, he produced 8 1/2 sacks in a six-game stretch, proving he is one of the league's most feared edge rushers.
At 6-5, 300, Raiders LT Barry Sims has a big size advantage on Abraham (6-3, 265). But unless he is able to get into Abraham's body, that won't matter.
