My family recently spent some time vacationing in San Francisco. After a few days I was glad to go back home to San Diego. I couldn't help but notice the change in this aesthetically stunning city. San Francisco seemed, in many senses, dirty.
Maybe it was the trash blowing through the streets. Maybe it was the ever-present graffiti in every part of town. We walked five blocks through North Beach for an excellent Italian meal and I was shocked to see every street sign violated with letters that made no sense. I snuggled my children close.
