- Indian is ahead of some of the industrialised countries in terms of the time taken for submitting preliminary findings with regard to dumping cases. The designated authority set up in the commerce ministry to probe such cases takes, on an average, roughly 3 months for the purpose against about 4-5 months by the US, around 5 months by Australia, 5-6 months by new Zealand and roughly 7-8 months by EU.
- For the industry facing the brunt of economic slowdown, new year may not bring the kind of cheer as it should. It is the 2002-03 Budget on which it is banking on for the much-needed stimulus to reverse the slowdown.
