ISLAMABAD, Jan 1 Asia Pulse - The government has announced major changes in the policy of importing engineering goods to protect the local industry. The import of Engineering Goods Control Order of 1998 has been repealed and a new one has been issued, specifying that the imports would now be made under international tenders.
The change in the import policy was made by a Ministry of Commerce order notified under SRO 827(I)/2001 issued in Islamabad on Dec 29, 2001.
