THIRD-quarter results released yesterday for cable group NTL show that the company'sIrish business generated revenues of stgGBP17.9m in the three months ended September2003, up over 10pc on the same period in 2002.
NTL Ireland's segment profit, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation andamortisation, totalled stgGBP7.5m, up from stgGBP4.5m in the same quarter last year.
A note to the accounts showed that Irish segment profit was boosted by the shared service agreement with IBM following the renegotiation of its IT outsourcing contract withthat company.
This renegotiation of the contract meant that the Irish figure benefited by stgGBP1m due to a reduction in rates previously charged.
NTL Ireland operates cable services in Dublin, Galway and Waterford.
