WHEN newsagents Peter and Di Wilson close their village shop in Almondsbury for the last time on Sunday it will be the end of an era.

Next week, the couple will be able to enjoy a late-morning lie-in for the first time in almost 35 years when they retire from the business on the busy A38.

But it is a sad day for the residents because Hill Stores is the last shop serving the local community.

Peter and Di have shared the duties of serving in the shop, getting up at 5am to sort out the morning deliveries for 14 paper rounds …
