AFTER they worked so well together on "Munting Tinig," the star-director team of Alessandra de Rossi and Gil Portes have another dramatic powerhouse in store for viewers in the Metro filmfest-bound "Homecoming," a movie about SARS.
Nurse
Elizabeth Oropesa and Alessandra play a mother and daughter who are reunited after Alessandra has worked for five years as a nurse in Canada. Upon coming home, Alessandra plans to marry her longtime boyfriend, and everything looks rosy. As for Elizabeth, she sees in her daughter her hope for a brighter future for her family.
Trouble is, the young nurse has contracted the dreaded SARS virus, and has brought it home with her. The infectious disease affects not just her immediate family, but her hometown itself, which has to deal with its diverse and complex consequences.
Story and screenplay are by Portes, Adolfo Alix Jr. and Senedy Que, the same team that wrote "Munting Tinig." We trust that they will be similarly successful and effective with this follow-up project.
