AT the Manila Cathedral and the Manila Hotel on Nov. 7, a unique "musical romance" drama will play itself out as Filipina Lorraine Pimentel and Belgian Alain Borghijs pledge their troth and celebrate with their loved ones and friends at a reception made even more beautifully romantic by songs composed by the bride's mother, Lourdes "Bing" de la Llana Pimentel.
Penchant
Bing, the wife of Sen. Aquilino Pimentel, has a penchant for writing songs to celebrate or highlight important chapters in her family's life, and her daughter Lorraine's wedding is no exception.
For the Manila Hotel reception, Bing has composed three songs, "Magic to My Heart," "Wagas na Pag-Ibig" and "Stapel Verliefd-Madly in Love." Along with the Frank Sinatra hit "Sweet Lorraine," they will be performed in a delightful mini-show by Bimbo Cerrudo, Chelsea Emata, Jingle Buena, Rito Asilo and Andy Bais.
"Stapel Verliefd" is sung by Bimbo to express the loving thoughts of the Belgian bridegroom, while "Wagas na Pag-ibig" has Jingle standing in musically for Bing, singing a mother's advice to her daughter on her wedding day.
