THE LAST house Marlon and Ed owned in fabulous Las Vegas was on Omaha st., in a section of the glitzy city where streets are named after Native American tribes. So, it was no wonder that, as they drove me to their home (where I was to be their guest), we passed Cherokee, Mohawk and Mohican streets, bringing to mind those exciting days when Western America was the new frontier.

Namedropping

The house on Omaha st. once was occupied by Frank Sinatra. Thud! Beat that for namedropping, ha? To add further spice, Marlon whispered that Johnny Carson once also lived there. The second thud you heard was the weight of the second name dropped!

Naturally, when I stayed in the Omaha st. house, I had visions of Ava Gardner, the Rat Pack and other Ol' Blue Eyes supporting stars talking, singing and, of course drinking in the living room.

Did Ava walk barefoot through the house? Did Nancy, Frankie's daughter, wear those boots for walkin' there, too? In short, I was tickled pink walking where they did, and sleeping where they may have.
