BACOLOD CITY-Don't be fooled by text messages informing you that you have won in a raffle because chances are, this is a sham.
Celso Estorga, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) chief in Bacolod, urged the public to refrain from entertaining text messages asking for cash or other valuables without inquiring from the proper government agency, cellular phone companies and the business establishments concerned if the raffle promotions were authentic.
He said five Negrense complained to the NBI here that they were duped of more than P200,000 after they believed in the raffle draws they received from text messages.
