FORMER prime ministers Jim Bolger, left, and Sir Geoffrey Palmer had a sneak preview of a history of New Zealand political leaders before the book's launch at Parliament last night.

Public Lives includes stories on each premier or prime minister from 1856, caricatures and cartoons. The information has been collated by author Ian F Grant, the founder of the New Zealand Cartoon Archive at the Alexander Turnbull Library.
