Snow grew into a solid, dependable point guard under Brown's guidance the last six seasons in Philadelphia. But after the 76ers were eliminated from the playoffs last spring by the Pistons, and the Pistons were swept out of the Eastern Conference finals by the Nets, Pistons president Joe Dumars fired coach Rick Carlisle. Two days later, Brown was hired as Detroit's coach.
