Section: Economy - The Prime Minister said that during this visit, Thailand and India signed several accords, but the most important one involves free trade area (FTA) between the two countries. He explained that under the free trade agreement, both countries would allow the free flow of products, services, and investment between them in stages without protectionism. In the "Early Harvest" scheme, they agreed to cut tariffs on 84 products, beginning in March 2004. These products also include fruit crops, such as rambutan, longan, mangosteen, and durian, as well as many industrial items, such as air-conditioners and electric fans.
