A Deeside doctor is among a modest group of men who have re-established a band of Knights which disbanded after the Crusades.

Tarland GP David Starritt is among 60 members of the modern incarnation of the Teutonic Knights - Crusaders alongside the Knights Templar and Hospitallers.

Now known as the Ordo Militaris Teutonicus - or Teutonic Military Order - the organisation works to support those in need.

The Knights have a particular focus on hospitals and schools in disadvantaged countries, with their attention directed towards Hungary and Croatia.
