CommonWealth Magazine organized a forum on how ecological awareness could reshape business behavior yesterday, with government officials, businessmen, and high-tech mavens responding to the idea of green purchasing addressed by Nobuo Hashizume, global environment and safety policy director of the Seiko Epson Corporation (SEC).

Incorporation of green ideas, or environmentally friendly measures, in the manufacturing sector may not be expensive compared to the long term expenditures on products and processes with no concept of sustainability, said Hashizume.
