The government of Australia has cleared about 2.5m US dollars of arrears owed by the Solomon Islands to ADB [Asian Development Bank], opening the way for possible resumption of ADB operations in the country.

As a step toward this, and to deepen dialogue with the government, ADB staff are currently taking part in a joint mission with the World Bank in Solomon Islands. The mission will review the political and socioeconomic situation; undertake broad stakeholder consultations within and outside the government; and determine the objectives and scope for resumption of ADB and World Bank …
