I'm officially announcing that I will take on Uhuru, says MP
The race for the Kanu chairmanship kicked off yesterday with former Finance Minister Chris Okemo declaring his interest.
The Nambale MP becomes the first politician to announce that he will contest the post.
Mr Okemo announced this at Lwanya Girls Secondary School during the official release of the constituency mock examination results, which he sponsored in September.
"In politics if you stay low, you just remain there. I want to officially announce that I will take on Uhuru Kenyatta in the race," he said.
