CHINA, October 21, SinoCast -- Digital China's quarterly financial results show a net loss of Hong Kong dollar 148.64 million. Guo Wei, president of the largest IT product distributor in China said the weak performance of mobile phone distribution business led to the loss.

He said impacted by the SARS epidemic in the first half year of 2003, the sales volume of mobile phone decreased by 80% compared with that of the last quarter. Moreover, the company had to cut the price of gray screen mobile phone by 30% to follow the populariztion of color screen mobile phone, which led to a loss of HKD 17 million.
