HHH THE songs of JOHN LENNON are to form the basis of a Broadway musical referred to simply as The Lennon Project.

YOKO ONO has approved the show, which will use about 30 Lennon songs, all written after the Beatles' breakup, to tell the story of the 1960s and 1970s.

"It is the story of Lennon as a lightning rod and how he defined the times and how the times defined him," producer DON SCARDINO tells Daily Variety.
