Hairy Hook This multi layered image, created solely with Ultra Fractal software, illustrates the chaotic style inherent in much of the artist's work. "A particular shape, texture, or theme may strike me at a certain time, where I 'see' something in a fractal--a face, an animal, an object," Vysniauskas explains. "Then I work to further define my vision by applying filters and effects so that others can 'see' it as well."

Stormchaser This piece is indicative of the artist's unique application and integration of fractal imagery in her artwork. The main image is a Poser rendering that is textured with photographs of lightning. Additional postproduction work was accomplished in Photoshop.

Professional artist Audre Vysniauskas contends that her art doesn't have a "signature style." To support this declaration, she points to the fact that her imagery reflects many different modes and themes, from unusual landscapes to stylized portraits. However, she does note that a large selection of her digital artwork contains a common thread--fractals, which are integrated into the image as textures or objects. "I love to 'find' things, and using fractals enables me to do that," she says. "Often, I'II stay up late generating just one more fracial." What makes this process inviting, the artist notes, is that she is never in complete control of the end result.

To create her digital images, Vysniauskas uses a variety of software, including Frederik Slijkerman's Ultra Fractal, Adobe Systems' Photoshop, Corel's Bryce (formerly from MetaCreations). Curious Labs' Poser, and more.
