SYDNEY, Oct. 16 / AsiaNet / - Just days after its World Premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Alfa Romeo's newest model, the Alfa Romeo GT, has arrived at the 2003 Sydney International Motor Show as a surprise last minute guest.

"Outside Germany, Australia is the first place in the world to see the final production version of the Alfa GT," says Kevin Wall, General Manager for Alfa Romeo in Australia. "We are honoured that we have been able to secure this car for display at the Sydney Motor Show and its presence here is a clear indication in the rising status of our national motor show in the world arena."

The Alfa GT, a five seat, two door coupe, is an all new addition to the Alfa Romeo range and it will arrive in Australia in the second half of 2004 powered by the same 3.2 litre 176 kW V6 that has garnered universal praise in the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA and 147 GTA. Prices and specifications will be announced when it goes on sale in 2004.
