WHETHER it is poetic justice or not, the ah longs (loan sharks) - dreaded for their sadistic ways when recovering bad debts - have become victims of their own game.

Borrowers have been known to disappear after forging identity cards (IC) to take loans from the ah longs who in turn, end up on a wild goose chase trying to recover the bad debts.

This leaves the innocent party whose IC is found to have been forged without his knowledge, being unnecessarily harassed by thugs despatched by loan sharks.
