Cape Town, South Africa (PANA) - South Africa's Chief Executive Officer for its 2010 World Cup Bid Committee is quietly optimistic that the prestigious event will be awarded to South Africa when the FIFA executive makes its decision in 2004.

But Danny Jordaan is braced for any eventuality, particularly after he saw the 2006 event pulled out from under his feet when it was awarded to Germany after the closest vote in history.
