LONDON (AFX) - US car parts maker TRW Automotive Holdings said it is cutting 128 jobs at a plant in Wales.
Detroit-based TRW said it is shedding 103 manufacturing jobs and 25 staff and support posts at its brake component factory in Pontypool, which employs about 500 people.
The group blamed the cuts on the end of a production contract and a reduction in other volumes early next year. It said it hopes to achieve the cuts voluntarily, but is not ruling out some compulsory redundancies.
Plant manager Steve Stott said: "A contract worth around 25 pct of our volumes comes to an end in February.
