Arabic translator becomes third Guantanamo arrest.

US authorities charged an Arab-American translator who is the third person from the Guantanamo detention center for al-Qaeda and Taliban prisoners to be detained for suspected spying.

Ahmed Fathy Mehalba, a naturalized US citizen of Egyptian descent, appeared in court in Boston after being detained at the city's Logan airport. Officials said that what appeared to be classified information was found during a luggage search.

Mehalba was remanded to federal custody pending a detention hearing on Wednesday.
