Brussels, Belgium (PANA) - Togolese Prime Minister Koffi Sama appealed on Tuesday to the Development Commission of the European Parliament for its support in the resumption of cooperation between the European Union (EU) and his country.

Togo has lost 300 billion CFA francs in aid since the EU severed ties with it in 1992.

Sama urged the Europeans to restore cooperation with his country because, he argued, the suspension of EU aid to Lome had jeopardised the democratisation process in Togo.
