Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Nigeria's lower legislative chamber, the House of Representatives, has protested to the US embassy in Abuja over the denial of a US entry visa to a member of the house, the local press reported Tuesday.

Rep. Ahmed Ningi was due to travel to the US last week for official matters, it said.

House Speaker Aminu Masari lodged the protest when the embassy's Political Counsellor, Jim Maxstadt, paid him a courtesy call on Monday.
