SEOUL, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - Samsung Electronics (KSE:05930) lost its No. 1 position in the global desktop monitor market to U.S. firm Dell Inc. during the second quarter, according to data released Wednesday by Display Search, a market research agency.
In the global market for liquid crystal display (LCD) and cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors, however, Samsung retained its previous rankings of No. 2 and No. 1, respectively, in the April-June quarter.
The second-quarter global output of desktop monitors increased 5 per cent year-on-year to 28 million units, with sales falling 4 per cent to US$7.8 billion.
