SYDNEY, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - Queensland's economy has defied an apocalyptic set of odds and still posted growth of more than five per cent this year, an economic forecaster said today.
"Any state that can rack up more than 5.0 per cent growth in output in a year that included SARS, the Iraq war, striking global weakness and the failure of the Broncos to make the (league) Grand Final deserves all the applause it can get," Access Economics said in its September economic outlook.
The report said with wetter weather in southern Queensland and a global upturn, the Sunshine State could expect robust economic growth to continue, as farm exports roll out and the tourists roll in.
