MUMBAI, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - India's exports of synthetic and rayon textiles touched an all-time high of Rs 76,290 million (US$1.67 billion) during the year 2002-03, Chairman of the Synthetic & Rayon textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) Rakesh Mehra said.
Speaking at the Council's 49th annual general meeting here on Monday, Mehra said fabrics dominated the country's product basket, accounting for 48 per cent of all textile exports.
Other remarkable growth in exports was showed by yarn which grew by a handsome 35 per cent, amounting to Rs 23,530 million, followed by made-up items which grew by almost 27 per cent.
