(From Bristol Evening Post)
BRISTOL clubs are mounting a sustained challenge for promotion from the First Division.
Bitton, Hallen and Bristol Manor Farm all won at the weekend to maintain their pursuit of Clyst Rovers, the early season leaders.
Clyst made it 10 games without defeat, Carl Cliff-Brown netting the only goal in a 1-0 home success over Calne Town.
But the Bristol trio remain hard on their heels - and second-placed Bitton trail by five points with three games in hand after disposing of Weston St Johns 2-0, courtesy of goals from James Ryan and Adam Cole.
Bristol Manor Farm won by the same score at bottom-of-the-table Minehead, former Taunton and Chippenham striker Mark Cutler putting the visitors in front on 56 minutes and recent signing Ben Walker sealing victory seven minutes from time.
Fourth-placed Hallen continue to score goals for fun and Gary Domone's team ran in four without reply at Shepton Mallet.
