CHINESE Po Chuan nearly got off the hook for drug trafficking after the records of his case mysteriously disappeared in 2001.
The records later resurfaced as mysteriously as these disappeared and this has led to his conviction and sentencing to life imprisonment.
Po, alias Gilbert Yang, was arrested on March 23, 1999, by a team of the now defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force.
He was later charged with selling 1 kilo of shabu, then worth P600,000.
During trial, Po denied selling shabu and claimed that he was framed.
