(From The Korea Herald)
By Sim Sung-tae The two main political parties yesterday continued slinging accusations at President Roh Moo-hyun for quitting the Millennium Democratic Party.
The MDP again expressed its outrage at Roh's departure, calling him "the president of division and betrayal." In a press briefing, MDP Chairman Park Sang-cheon strongly denounced Roh for leaving the MDP without consulting the party.
"It is like President Roh is marrying another woman after dumping his faithful wife as he gets richer," Park said.
The Grand National Party also condemned Roh's unprecedented decision to leave the MDP, urging him to join "his new political party" as soon as possible.
"President Roh deserves to be criticized (for his irresponsible stance on party membership)," GNP Chairman Choe Byung-yul said during a meeting with his senior party officials.
"He should go to the new party and announce that it is Roh Moo-hyun's party," he added.
