Brilliance China's H2 earnings performance seen weaker than H1 - analysts.

BEIJING (XFN) - Brilliance China Automotive Ltd's (HK 1114; NYSE CBA) net profit in the first half almost doubled from a year earlier, largely due to the sales of its Zhonghua sedans, but the company's second half performance may not be as strong, analysts told XFN.

The auto maker recorded net profit of 573.9 mln yuan in the first six months of the year, up 98.2 pct from 289.6 mln yuan a year earlier.

"Both Zhonghua sedans and Jinbei mini-buses have experienced increasing market competition, which has slowed their sales and will eat into Brilliance China's profits," said Xu Xiang, an analyst with Southern …
