A delegation of west African foreign ministers met Tuesday with military leaders who seized power in Guinea-Bissau at the weekend, a regional official said. The foreign ministers of Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Nigeria and Senegal met in Bissau with the leaders of Sunday's coup, in which president Kumba Yala and his government were toppled, to discuss ways of resolving the crisis, the official said.

The delegation was accompanied by Mohammed ibn Chambas, the executive secretary of the 15-nation Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), spokeswoman Adrienne Diop said.
